Our Federal Government Encourages Fraud
Those who have read certain of my other articles here know that I abhor welfare. It enslaves its recipients, and as Benjamin Franklin observed, tends to make the poor, poorer. But most egregious, the system necessary to support it requires that the government steal from others, a direct infringement upon man’s natural rights. There is another undesirable side effect of well-intentioned welfare: it tempts our citizens and encourages fraud.
“Report: Millions of jobless file for disability when unemployment benefits run out”
As individual’s unemployment insurance expires, many are mysteriously becoming disabled, and filing for federal disability benefits. In addition to the obvious infringement upon our liberty that both unemployment insurance and disability insurance are, they are also an insurmountable temptation to the more ethically-challenged among us to lie. Thus, the reason that the title of this article says that government encourages fraud. But the obvious fraud does not deter this particular administration from being happy about what is happening. As one goes on disability, they come off the unemployment roles, thus the high unemployment rate looks better, without actually doing anything about high unemployment.
2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
